Africa Race 2024: Aprilia Tuareg in the lead of Africa Race

Aprilia Tuareg and Jacopo Cerutti also confirm their extraordinary state of shape in the fourth stage of the Africa Eco Race. The longest section of the whole race, with its 472.41 km of which 467.36 special trials, saw the riders engaged in Morocco from Oued Draa to Fort Chacal in the outskirts of Laayoune. Path immersed in breathtaking scenery, with sliding sections alternating with large phases of sailing in the desert.

Cerutti had the best on direct opponents Pol Tarres, separated by 2 minutes, and Alessandro Botturi, on the finish more than 4 minutes from the driver Aprilia. For Jacopo, it is the third victory in four stages, an impeccable lead role. Today's podium reflects the situation in the overall ranking, with Cerutti on Tarres (+08:55) and Botturi (+10:22).

Growing Francesco Montanari, at his debut in the big raids, is eighth today with the second Tuareg in the race and eighty also in the overall ranking.

The caravan will remain in Morocco tomorrow for the fifth stop, from Fort Chacal to Dakhla on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. It will be 592.6 total kilometers, 404.06 of these on special trials, before a well-deserved day of rest for teams and drivers.

Jacopo Cerutti: " A beautiful stage today, the route was beautiful and I made a long stretch with Tarres and Botturi after reaching them towards km 200. The tracks were fast and less unconnected than the previous days, and this allowed me to drive well and have fun, even though the navigation was rather challenging. Now we are preparing for the stage tomorrow, before the well-deserved day of rest and the move to Mauritania.".

Francesco Montanari: "Good day. I drove well all day but in the final I was rather ahead and there were no tracks to follow, so I lost some time. The potential, however, is there; we must not make mistakes and make good use of the opportunities that will present themselves."
