Currently known as BAJA TT CAPITAL DOS VINHOS DE PORTUGAL, the race organized by SAR-Motorismo in Reguengos de Monsaraz, Portugal, had during its three decade long history many names, often related with the main sponsor.
Being a regular feature of the Portuguese championship, during all these years something never changed: the huge challenge it offers to the competitors. In some points similar to the world famous Baja Portalegre, this race is fast and demanding.  Aparently easy, but it holds a number of surprises for the drivers, and for that reason it should be faced carefully.
The characteristics of the terrain in the region near Alqueva, the biggest artificial lake in Europe, are loved by most of the teams and drivers, wich made this race one of the favourites in the Portuguese calendar.
The tracks are designed mostly inside forest of cork oaks and holm oak, in some points crossing the wineyards and olive tree plantations of the region, making from this unique landscape one amazing scenery for the race. To complete the picture postal card, the race has a smaller strech draw in the shores of the Alqueva lake.
The Race HQ is usually located in the beautiful town of Reguengos de Monsaraz, deep inside Alentejo Region, one of the pearls of Portugal, still very preserved and unknown to most of the tourists that visit the country.
Foreign competitors can find here a challenge similar to the FIA Bajas, where the usually big entry list of competitors  completes what can be an amazing racing weekend.
In the past years, the race started also to receive motorbikes, quads and SSVs from the Portuguese championship, making this rally the second biggest in Portugal, right after Baja Portalegre.
