bp Ultimate Adventure Team stands firm at the Rallye du Maroc 2025
Martim Ventura overcomes a tough stage in the Moroccan rally
The bp Ultimate Adventure Team continues its participation in the Rallye du Maroc, the final round of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), with Martim Ventura completing another demanding stage of this challenging competition. The young Portuguese rider tackled the second stage of the Moroccan event — a grueling day with 307 timed kilometres around Erfoud. The stage was marked by the rough terrain and the typical adversities of the Moroccan desert, with a route full of rocks and alternating dune sections. Complex navigation and reduced visibility caused by heavy dust from the competitors ahead added an extra layer of difficulty to this second day of racing.
Despite a promising start, where he managed to set a good pace, Martim Ventura was surprised by a technical issue halfway through the special that cost him a significant amount of time. However, the bp Ultimate Adventure Team rider remains motivated and focused, showing resilience and determination in the face of adversity.
“Today was a bittersweet day. I was setting a strong pace, but at a certain point the mousse in the rear wheel disintegrated. Perhaps some sharp rocks cut the tyre and destroyed the mousse, and because of that, I had to ride half the stage without it. I had to go very slowly to make it to the finish. Despite the setback, I’m happy to have finished and to still be in the race. I’m satisfied because I proved I can maintain a good rhythm, but I’m disappointed with the result since I lost more than two hours. Still, that’s racing — now the goal is to stay calm for the next stages,” said Martim Ventura, who is riding a Honda HRC.
Tomorrow’s third stage of the Rallye du Maroc will once again take place around Erfoud, featuring a 323 km timed special.
