Erik van Loon and Wouter Rosegaar drove a strong test on the sixth stage of the Morocco Desert Challenge and recorded the second time in the SSV class. The test was stopped after 200 kilometers, but that did not stop the duo from posting a good result.
“It went well,” Erik says. “We didn't take any risks and kept the car in one piece. In the beginning it was a bit more technical, then the throttle went back on. More than 100 km/h on average, so you're almost constantly at the limit. That's not so cool when your maximum is only 125 km/h.”
The hoped-for dunes did not materialize due to the cancellation at the fuel stop, but still Erik and Wouter climbed to second place in the overall standings. With two stages to go, anything is still possible. “We are going full steam ahead. If we keep riding tight and Mitchel makes a mistake, everything is open again.”
