MDC 2025: Third time for Erik van Loon and Wouter Rosegaar in dusty fifth stage
The fifth stage of the Morocco Desert Challenge was once again full of speed and dust. Erik van Loon and Wouter Rosegaar rode a strong and consistent test in their Can-Am Maverick R and finished third in the SSV class, just three minutes behind the day winner.
“It was another fast test and we actually rode in the dust of others all day,” says Erik. “That makes it difficult to find your rhythm and really attack. We were able to continue riding well, because it was full throttle again. I hope that tomorrow we will finally get a stage with a bit more peace, space and fun in riding.”
Tomorrow the participants will move to Foum Zguid. After a long liaison route of 187 kilometers, a special of 312 kilometers follows. It starts in rough terrain and ends with a 20-kilometre dune section, where Erik and Wouter hope to be able to ride more freely again, without all the dust from slower predecessors.
