Parys 400 2024: Red-Lined en route to Parys!
Six car team set for Championship double header
While the world has been dazzled by Paris in France and the Olympics over the past few weeks, the attention now turns to Parys in the Free State for the Ingco Parys 400 and the Ingo Vaal 400, rounds four and five of the South African Rally-Raid Championship, scheduled for the weekend of 16 and 17 August. To that measure, Red-Lined Motorsport is quite literally locked and loaded with a three-car factory T1+ Ultimate team along with two privateer teams in the T1 Adventure class of which one is fighting for the national title.
“Parys is the next step in our 2024 South African Rally Raid Championship campaign as we head for the Free State,” Red-Lined team principal Terence Marsh laid it out. “South African Rally-Raid legend Chris Visser and loyal notes man Albertus Venter will lead the team aboard our Red-Lined REVO T1+ GT-R as we continue to develop and learn more about this new exciting T1+ race machine of ours.
“They will be backed by our two international crews aboard a couple more REVO T1+ GTRs, as we continue to gather more mileage and data in pursuit of maximising the performance of our very own version of Godzilla. Red-Lined Europe CEO Rients Hofstra is back alongside local lad Wade Harris and looking to continue on what has been an impressive start to his debut year in the South African championship. Then the ever-consistent and experienced Dutch duo of Dave and Tessa Klaassen will also be back in their DaklaPack Rallysport powered REVO T1+ GTR.
“It’s all to play for in the T1 Adventure class, where our privateers Gerhard and Rudi Heinlein’s in their Sirkel N VK56, and Johan de Bruyn and Adriaan Roets’ in their Falken Tyres REVO T1 are in a splendid title battle for that championship. They are then joined by a new rookie crew as Danie Ludick and Denzil Williamson make their national debut aboard their Elegant Fuels VK56. After a successful three regional events, we have decided it’s now time for these boys to step up to the big league!
“So there you have it. Just as you thought you’d seen the end of Paris, we are off to Parys for the weekend where as a team we are looking forward to another couple of challenging championship rounds in the Free State,” Terence concludes. “All the very best of luck to all our respective teams as well as every member of the Red-Lined family – let the adventures begin!”
