Renault KEC 400 2024: Red-Lined ready to thrill home fans
Red-Lined Motorsport poised for SA Rally Raid finale
Red-Lined Motorsport takes its shortest trip of the year to the Legends Adventure Farm near Pretoria for the Renault KEC 400, the final round of the 2024 South African Rally-Raid Championship, on the weekend of 8 and 9 November. While the trip may be short, the teams focus and intensity will be high as they look to finish the year on the front foot.
“It’s by far our shortest journey of the year to a National Rally Raid event, so we’re hoping to see many of our Gauteng based fans over the weekend,” team principal Terence Marsh confirmed. “While our event logistics are somewhat easier than normal our in depth and methodical preparation remains the same as we look forward to another cracking weekend of racing.
“Red-Lined Europe CEO Rients Hofstra will once again be alongside local navigator Wade Harris in their factory T1+ Ultimate REVO GT-R. Rients and Wade have consistently performed within the top 10 this season which has been rather impressive in their debut season, so we will be targeting another top 10 from them come Saturday. Unfortunately, due to business commitments Chris Visser will not be able to compete this event, so both he and his trusted navigator Albertus Venter will be sorely missed over the weekend.
“Our major focus as a team for this weekend however will be in the highly competitive T1 Adventure class where we have two customer teams fighting it out for the overall Championship. Gerhard Heinlein together with dad Rudi in the hot seat of their Sirkel N VK56 will be going head-to-head with Johan de Bruyn and Adriaan Roets’ in their Falken Tyres REVO T1 for the championship. Exciting times to say the least and we look forward to the celebrations that will follow after what has been an extremely competitive year for the guys!
“Rookie crew Danie Ludick and Denzil Williamson will be looking to continue their impressive run of results since their national debut just a few months ago in their Elegant Fuels VK56. And then talking of record finishing streaks, the Penta Motor Group pairing of Philip Botha and Roelof Janse van Vuren have finished every race bar one over a period of 4 years that they have been racing in their respective Penta VK50 and VK56. This however will be their final race in the T1 class as they take step up to a REVO T1+ V8 in 2025.
“We are really looking forward to a great event this weekend to wrap up what has been both a rewarding and adventurous year for the team. Furthermore, we look forward to meeting and sharing the weekend with the many of our Gauteng based fans who will be coming out to support us. Let’s try and wrap this season up on a high!”
