Dakar 2024: António Maio very motivated to take part in the Dakar Rally again
Yamaha rider in the world's toughest off-road marathon for the fifth time
António Maio, National Cross-Country Champion, is finalizing details for the start of the Dakar Rally, which gets underway on January 5 with a 28km prologue to set up the starting line for the first stage of the competition.
The Yamaha rider will be at the controls of a WR450F Rally and is very motivated to achieve good results.
"I'm about to start my fifth Dakar Rally. We've already passed all the physical and logistical preparation stages and now all that's left to do is carry out the usual administrative and technical checks on the vehicles. Next Friday we'll set off for the prologue and from there another challenge begins. We did a shakedown and realized that the bike is impeccable and we're ready for another great adventure. The aim is to get a good result and try to beat the classifications obtained in previous years, but I'll try to manage the stages carefully so as not to compromise my race. I would like to thank everyone for their support in this challenge," says António Maio.
António Maio will carry out the administrative and technical checks in Alula tomorrow.
