Mário Franco and Daniel Jordão finish Dakar in 8th place in the World Championship

The Franco Sport team concluded its participation in the 2024 Dakar Rally today in 7th place among the Challenger Ranking drivers and teams entered in the World Championship, after recording the 5th best time in the W2RC classification on the 12th and final stage, which took place in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, and concluded this 46th edition of the world's premier off-road race.

In their debut year at the controls of a Yamaha YXZ 1000R Turbo T3, Mário Franco and Daniel Jordão reached the Top 10 of the new Challenger Ranking in two of the stages: 8th place in the final selective sector that took place today and the 7th best time in the second stage.

It was 14 days of pure competition, which included a marathon stage and the novelty of the 48H Crono stage. It covered a total of 7,881 kilometers, of which 4,727 were time trials. For Mário Franco and Daniel Jordão, it was more than 100 hours at the controls of the Yamaha, on a route marked by a few punctures, some mechanical mishaps and requests for assistance, the use of the Joker, which after the absence on the 10th stage allowed them to continue with the competition, but above all, a lot of learning and the satisfaction of having successfully completed this tough Rally, thus fulfilling the objective they had set themselves at the start of this competition that gave drivers and teams no respite.

"It wasn't the Dakar we wanted, but taking into account the harshness of this rally and all the unforeseen events we had, we can say it was a successful conclusion! We've learned a lot and there's a lot to improve in every aspect so that we can achieve the desired result next time. To everyone who supported us and to the whole team, thank you very much! Now it's time to return home," said Mário Franco about Franco Sport's performance in the race.
