Dakar 2024: Mário Patrão at the Dakar "like a boss"
Portuguese rider unshaken
In a Dakar with 20% of the drivers competing in the Veteran Trophy class, it continues to be unshakably dominated by Portuguese driver Mário Patrão, who leads by more than four hours over the second-placed driver. At the controls of the new Honda CRF 450 RS2 Rally, the CRÉDITO AGRICOLA-supported rider was once again the fastest on today's stage, which began and ended in Alula.
Mário Patrão, sponsored by SEIA DO TAVARES, took 4h25m56s to cover the 371 km of a selective sector disputed around the huge rocks of the Alula region. The Portuguese rider has put in an excellent performance, demonstrating his high level of professionalism and commitment to the world of motorcycling.
"Today's stage went smoothly. As I said before, I'm doing a management test at the moment. There are two stages to go and I'm concentrating on that, even though I'm already feeling tired. Tomorrow the organization has announced that it will be one of the hardest stages to get through, so I'm looking forward to it. Thanks to everyone for their support." reveals Mário Patrão, sponsored by CASA DA SORTE, who, in addition to leading the veterans, is also in 17th place in the Rally 2 Ranking.
Tomorrow's 11th and penultimate stage could shake up the podium of the various rankings. Stretching for almost 500 kilometers, most of the special that will link Alula to Yanbu will take place on arid and rugged terrain. This will be the final physical challenge for the drivers. The organization has issued special warnings about the harshness the drivers will face tomorrow.
