Old Friends Rally Team duo in the lead of the World Championship, on the podium of the SSV ranking and on the podium of the FIA Rookie Challenge
Alexandre Pinto and Bernardo Oliveira are having a fantastic Dakar debut and today in Hail, Saudi Arabia, they had a well-deserved rest day. The two youngsters, aged just 25 and 20, have already won four of the five stages of the world championship, a competition they are leading and, at the controls of a Can-Am entered by the Old Friends Rally Team, they are also on the podium of the SSV ranking and the FIA Rookie Challenge. Having set themselves more humble goals for this event, success has not altered their main purpose and they are above all focused on finishing the race.
“After the hard week we all had at the Dakar, today allowed us to rest. Bernardo and I rested well and felt prepared. The team, on the other hand, has been working on the car since yesterday. We've already been testing it. We think it's ready to face this second week, but problems can arise at any time. We're sticking to our initial focus: finishing the Dakar. We want to accumulate experience. Of course, we're going to fight for the best possible result, but that's the goal and we're sticking to it,” said Alexandre Pinto, driver of the Old Friends Rally Team.
