Luís Portela Morais and David Megre to compete in Dakar 2025 as an official team

The bp Ultimate Adventure Team will once again be taking part in the world's biggest motorsport event. Luís Portela Morais and David Megre will share the controls of a G-ECKO entered by the official G Rally Team in the Challenger Category. It will be the duo's return to the Dakar Rally after an excellent debut in the SSV discipline where, in the 2022 edition, they placed seventh and were the best Portuguese team.

“I'm delighted to be returning to competition and to be able to compete in the Dakar Rally which is, as they say, the Olympic Games of motor sport. It's a unique event which I have fantastic memories of taking part in with David in 2022. This time we'll be taking part as official G Rally Team drivers in a project that will be presented very soon. It's a big responsibility and a huge challenge, but we're both used to the pressure. It will certainly be fantastic to represent the bp Ultimate Adventure Team on this world-class stage. We're focused on making a good showing and, if possible, achieving a positive result,” said Luís Portela Morais, whose first appearance in the event dates back to 2017, when he had just won the national Rugby championship.

David Megre recently triumphed on his motorcycle in the Baja Oeste de Portugal, the Portuguese round of the FIM Bajas World Cup and the final round of the Baja European Championship. A result that allowed the driver to become European Champion and just two points off the lead in the Bajas World Championship.

The G Rally Team recently launched the G-ECKO at the Morocco Rally. In the next few days, the team will present and show the first model to come out of the Belgian team's workshops in Wavre, which will be driven in the Dakar by Luís Portela Morais.
