Dakar 2025: Bruno Santos climbs another three positions in the Dakar
The Portuguese rider once again managed a clean and uneventful stage
After several stages in which he struggled with mechanical problems and yesterday's stage in which he finally managed to ride without any problems, Bruno Santos once again had a positive day at the Dakar. At the controls of his Husqvarna 450 Rally, the Frutas Patrícia Pilar rider completed the 483 km timed stage from Al Duwadimi to Riyadh in 5h43m48s, a result that allowed him to finish very close to the top 30.
“Today was a very interesting and long day in this Dakar. There were almost 500 km of special stages. The route was also long, almost 800 km in all. At the start, we alternated between fast areas and more rocky ones, but always paying close attention to navigation. Then we passed through faster areas again and finally, through more dangerous, cobbled tracks, but always with a lot of speed. There were also some dunes at the end. We haven't had many so far. I was able to ride all day on my own, with no other riders around, no dust and no mishaps. It was an intense, long day, but I'm very happy to be at the finish line and ready to set off for tomorrow,” reveals the Momento TT-backed rider on a day when he climbed another three places in the overall standings.
Tomorrow sees the ninth stage of the Dakar Rally 2025. The convoy leaves Riyadh for Harad. It will take 589 km, 357 of which will be timed. The road to Haradh will take the competition south on mainly fast tracks. This stage will be an appetizer for what is yet to come.
