  • The driver from Vic and his co-driver Sergi Brugué are still on a roll and have now completed three consecutive days without any problems or setbacks.
  • The BBR Motorsport driver finished the tenth stage of the Dakar in 32nd position in the Challenger category and 99th overall.
  • “It was a very clean stage for us, although we had to be very careful because there were some very steep dunes”.

Joan Font continues to burn kilometers on the Dakar 2025. This Wednesday it was the turn of the Empty Quarter dunes, in the first of two stages to be contested entirely on the sandy ridges of the largest desert in the Arabian Peninsula. A terrain that proved to be quite favorable for the Catalan driver's Can-Am Maverick X3, even though the excess weight in his vehicle (he is carrying spare parts for his team, as he is a fast assistance car), clearly works against him.

The day started very early, with a long liaison of more than 500 km, followed by 120 km of timed special stage. A foretaste of what, presumably, they will find tomorrow, although with a much higher mileage: “The truth is that it went really well; it was a very clean stage for us, although we had to go with lead feet because there were very cut dunes,” said Joan Font who, with this one, makes three consecutive stages without suffering any mishap, neither he nor his team.

The BBR Motorsport driver finished the stage in 32nd position among the Challengers and 99th overall in cars, on a day in which the stage victory went to his teammate, Dania Akeel, the same one who days ago, in the sixth stage, between Ha'il and Al Duwadimi, he rescued in a string of dunes, after having broken a suspension arm of his Taurus. One more reason for Font and Brugué to rejoice, whose main incentive on this Dakar is to help their team finish on the top of the podium, both in the overall and in each of the stages.
