Portuguese duo continues to gain positions in the overall standings

Luís Portela Morais once again had a successful day as he finished the third stage of the 47th Dakar Rally in 8th place in the overall standings of the very competitive Challenger category, a result that allowed him to climb one more position in the General Classification and now occupy 7th place. At the controls of the G-ECKO prototype and navigated by David Megre, the bp Ultimate Adventure Team driver faced yet another devastating stage for both machines and drivers, with a good part of the selective section of the special that linked Bisha and Al Henakiyah being contested on very rocky tracks.

“It was a very difficult stage, shorter, but not easy. The route consisted of 327 timed kilometers, 200 km of which were very rocky tracks and we had to drive very carefully. But we finished, we're happy and we're on our way. We didn't have any problems with the car, but we still have a lot to work on because there are still many days to go. The aim is to keep up this momentum and reach our final goal, which is to finish this edition of the Dakar,” said Luís Portela Morais at the end of the third stage, where he recorded a time of 3h52m55s over the 327 km.

Tomorrow, the fourth stage of the 2025 Dakar Rally will take place between Al Henakiyah and Alula, in Saudi Arabia. It will cover 588 km, 415 of which will be timed. The fourth stage marks the start of the marathon day, where at the end of the day the drivers will only have an hour and a half to work on their machines. It will be another complex challenge for the competitors.
