Dakar 2026: Stage 10 - Bruno Santos climbs another step up the Dakar standings
The rider from Torres Vedras is the leading Husqvarna competitor, 7th in Rally2 and 17th overall.
Bruno Santos successfully completed today the second marathon stage of the 2026 Dakar Rally. Riding a Husqvarna 450 Rally, the Frutas Patrícia Pilar-backed rider once again improved his position in the standings of this year’s toughest off-road event in the world. With three days remaining until the end of the rally, he sits 7th in Rally2 and 17th overall — in a classification that started with 115 riders, with almost a hundred still in the race. It was a day in which Bruno Santos, the best-placed Husqvarna rider, faced 371 kilometres against the clock on a particularly demanding route, featuring a long dune section where navigation, physical endurance and race management proved decisive.
“We’ve finished the marathon stage and we’re already at the bivouac in Bisha. Yesterday’s stage was very tiring and physically demanding. Today we had more than 200 km of dunes that were very tricky and required a lot of effort. But everything went well and we’ve taken another step forward towards the finish of this Dakar, and I believe I can keep improving. There are only three days left until the rally ends and we want everything to go smoothly right to the end of this Dakar,” said the rider from Torres Vedras upon arrival in Bisha, who is supported by Momento TT.
The 2026 Dakar Rally continues tomorrow with Stage 11, which will run from Bisha to Al Henakiyah, featuring 347 kilometres of timed sections. This stage will be characterised by a high number of crossings, splits and junctions, making the route potentially labyrinthine. Clear vision, pinpoint navigation and sustained concentration will be decisive factors to avoid incidents and reach the Al Henakiyah camp — especially given the total length of the stage.
