Alexandre Pinto climbed to third place in the overall SSV standings today, leading among the drivers competing in the SSV World Championship. With the fourth stage of the 2026 Dakar Rally now completed, the Old Friends Rally Team driver remains at the top of the W2RC (World Rally-Raid Championship), tied on points with another competitor. In this fourth stage — the first part of the first marathon leg of this Dakar — featuring 451 timed kilometres in the selective section, the Alexandre Pinto/Bernardo Oliveira duo, 2025 world champions, set the 7th fastest time overall in SSV, and finished 5th among the W2RC contenders.

As this is a marathon stage, the riders are out of contact and will spend the night in the desert. Vehicle maintenance is their responsibility, as they will not have any external assistance.

In stage five, the second part of the marathon leg, the convoy that left AlUla today will continue on toward Ha’il. There will be another 356 timed kilometres, generally faster, on a route that also includes several sections with successive changes of direction and some rocky stretches.
