Categorical victory in the FIA World Baja Cup stage
Gonçalo Guerreiro, driving a Polaris RZR Pro R Sport, was the big winner in the SSV category at the 40th edition of the Baja España Aragon stage of the FIA World Baja Cup. Navigated by José Sá Pires, the young driver from JB Racing, supported by Polaris Racing Ibéria, categorically dominated the SSV competition, achieving an excellent position in the overall standings of a race in which many of the world's best drivers took part.
A triumph achieved by the young former national off-road champion on his debut in Europe's oldest Baja, this year celebrating its 40th edition, where he was fastest in the three selective sectors and in the prologue, finishing with a lead of more than 13 minutes over the second-placed driver: “I'm extremely happy with our participation in Aragón. We've been working for some time to be able to be at this level here and possibly in other international races. Once the conditions were right, the result we've now achieved mirrors our daily efforts over the last few months. I'm very happy, we won the category by some margin. We were the fastest in all the selective sectors and in the prologue. It was a fantastic race on our part. I want to thank our JB Racing team who did an excellent job, my family and everyone who supports us,” said the young driver at the end of the race in Teruel.
For Miriam Torres, Polaris Marketing Manager, “this win confirms the validity of our bet on Gonçalo, a young driver with enormous potential and a lot of hard work, and the enormous potential of the Polaris RZR Pro R Sport. We've had two Polaris on the podium of a World Cup race, which is very significant of their qualities”.
