While the drivers of the Portuguese championship reserved for cars and SSV (FIA) are preparing for the Baja TT Norte de Portugal, which takes place from 25 to 27 April in the most northern part of Portugal, the moto and quad riders and also the SSV (non-FIA) drivers return to action next weekend in the central region of the country to compete in the Raid TT Gois 2025, which this year will be called the 32nd Raide TT José Alvoeiro, in homage to José Alvoeiro, rider and race director  of this event for decades, who passed away on February 2.

The 2025 edition of this classic race on the Portuguese calendar will run through the hills and valleys of the municipalities of Gois and Arganil on Saturday and Sunday.  Although the list of entrants has not yet been released, it is expected to contain all the main participants from all categories, as well as a vast list of other lesser-known entrants.

In total, the pilots will have to travel 328 kilometers "against the clock". Saturday will be the day with the shortest distance to run, starting with a short prologue of around 4.8km, followed by a 77km special. Sunday will be the big day of this race, with a demanding 246.5 km special stage to cover.

The selective sectors will once again take the participants through the constant ups and downs of the region's mountains, passing through very winding and narrow areas at the bottom of the valleys or inside the forests, to occasionally emerge onto the mountain peaks or less wooded areas where the tracks gain width and become straighter and where the vehicles easily gain speed.

This demanding race will be made even more difficult this year due to the weather, as Portugal has received heavy amounts of rain that have soaked the entire route, creating numerous areas of mud and water. However, these difficulties will be "reinforced" over the weekend as heavy rain is once again forecast for both days of the race in the region.
