The pilots of the BP Ultimate Adventure Team have today started their participation in the Baja España Aragón, a pointing competition for the FIA Cross Country World Cup and FIM Bajas World Cup, where the team plays with Miguel Barbosa and David Megre. In this first day of the race consisting of a prologue and a selective sector with more than one hundred and a half kilometers timed, both drivers had to overcome crashes that they managed to survive and will have a long journey ahead tomorrow.

For Miguel Barbosa, debutant in this famous Spanish race, the problems “started very early since at Km 40 we had a flat tyre and shortly after another, which left us without replacement wheels and in order not to run the risk of a new hole preventing us from continuing, we had to drive at more cautious pace. It was a pity since until the flats happened we were able to race at a good rhytim and to get a corresponding result,” said the driver who, at the wheel of a Toyota T1+, is being navigated by Hugo Magalhães.

For David Megre, the current leader of the European Championship, and well positioned in the world “the race started well with a good result in the prologue that allowed us a good starting position for the selective sector. In this, we were also very well, when near the end I started not feeling well and I had to slow down to get to the end without any accidents. I’ve lost some time, but I’m still in a good position and tomorrow I’ll go back to the track to give my best,” says the driver who is racing in a  Kawasaki.

The 39th edition of the Baja España Aragón, continues tomorrow with two selective sections of 155 and 170 kilometers timed.
