Baja Aragon 2024: Bruno Santos takes the lead in the World Cup
Portuguese rider in 6th place on debut at Baja España Aragón
Bruno Santos has risen to the top of the Bajas World Cup after successfully completing his participation in the 40th edition of the Baja España Aragón, a competition that brought together some of the best international drivers in the sport. After his brilliant triumph at the Baja Extremadura in May, the 6th place he achieved in what was his debut at Europe's oldest Baja allowed him to take the lead in the World Cup.
At the controls of a Husqvarna FE 40 Rally, the Momento TT-supported rider said on arriving in Teruel at the end of the Baja Espana Aragón that “for this third and final day of the Baja Aragón, we only had one 160-kilometer selective sector, which we found to be very hard and already very degraded and broken due to the passage of the cars. With a bit more sand, it felt like we were in the desert, unfortunately for me without navigation. I give it a positive assessment, as it gave me the chance to learn a bit more and also to train. I didn't get any further than 6th place, but I was up against some very experienced drivers who know these tracks. I'm satisfied with my performance, which has given me the lead in the World Cup. I did my best, we always want more, but it was very positive and I leave here with more experience. Thank you very much to everyone who supports and accompanies me.”
Bruno Santos is now planning to return to the international stage by taking part in another World Cup event in Hungary in August. He will then take part in the Baja TT Sharish Gin in Reguengos de Monsaraz in September, which is also a World Cup event.
