The Spanish TT Rally Championship is back, this time with what is surely the most important off-road event held on Spanish soil, the Baja Aragon. For Team Motivo JCB, represented by the duo Maria Luís Gameiro/José Marques, who drive the Mini JCW Plus, this round, which is being held during the national off-season, is extremely important as the team will be able to secure the Spanish Vice-Championship, the result of an unblemished performance throughout the season.

This round, which is based in the Aragonese city of Teruel and which counts, among other things, towards the Bajas World Championship, kicks off this Friday, and three days of intense competition are expected, but also a lot of heat, with temperatures forecast at over 35 degrees for the whole weekend. Maria Luís Gameiro is part of a valuable list of entrants, with the hottest TT names in the world as rivals, but also an extensive Portuguese entourage, which wants to shine on this international stage

The Cascais rider is determined to repeat the good results of her last CERTT races, but she agrees that “it's a very demanding race. The heat will play a key role and I hope to be up to this challenge, which is nothing new for us. I really enjoy this race and this time I have an additional motivation, which is to be able to secure a runner-up finish in the Spanish Absolute Championship. I really want to achieve that goal and I'm sure that the work we've been doing means progress. I want to put into practice once again those good signs we got from the tests. However, I'm also aware that we'll be going up against a very strong squad, both in terms of drivers and cars, comparable only to the one we faced at the Raid Portugal Rally,” said Maria Luís Gameiro.

This 2024 edition of the Baja Aragón will be on the road between Friday (July 26) and Sunday (July 28), with two stages totaling just over 500 kilometers on the clock (with connections there will be more than 800), preceded by the 7.57 km Prologue, which marks the start of hostilities on Friday afternoon, and which will serve to line up the teams for the starting stage.
