Baja Aragon 2024: Portuguese Santag Racing Team present in Spain's most important race
Santag Racing is packing its bags to return to the FIA Bajas World Cup, and it's carrying a lot of ambition with it for the third event on the world calendar, the Baja Aragon to be held in Spain, between July 26 and 28 in the Spanish region with the bivouac in Teruel.
João Dias and Pedro Ré (OT3), Rui Farinha and Rui Pita (Can Am) and Otávio Sousa Leite and João Miranda (OT3) will be competing in Spain with cars in the Challenger T3 category. Cristiano Batista and Fausto Mota will be starting in a Can Am SSV T4 also prepared by Santag Racing.
While for João Dias this is the second event on the world calendar (the first was the Hail International Rally in Saudi Arabia), for Rui Farinha, Otávio Sousa Leite, and Cristiano Batista it will be their debut. Rui Farinha will be competing in Spain in a car in the Challenger T3 category. “The results we have achieved in the different events on the calendar are our best presentation card and it is with great satisfaction that we are going to the World Cup event with four teams, which reflects the drivers' confidence in the work we have done,” said David Vieira, Santag Racing's manager, regarding the race and Santag Racing's structure in Spain over the next few days.
“In a race where the world's best off-road drivers are taking part, the demands are high and we're bringing a structure of mechanics and support so that our drivers can focus solely on the course ahead and make the most of the cars we've prepared for this Baja Aragon,” adds David Vieira.
The Baja Aragon starts on July 26 and takes place over three days. There are around 522 timed kilometers, with a Prologue and two days of timed Selective Sectors.
