The Baja España Aragón, in its 40th edition, will once again break the record number of teams registered for the event. There will be more than 270 teams in the different categories (cars, motorcycles, trucks, SSV and Parabaja) that will participate from July 26th to 28th in the only Spanish event of the FIA World Cup.

In its eleventh consecutive edition in Teruel and over three days of competition (Friday 26, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28), all of them will face the 522 timed kilometers that will cross 35 municipalities of the Comarca del Jiloca, Gea de Albarracín and Teruel.

In the car category, the Saudi Yazeed Al Rajhi will race in Teruel to cut points to the leader of the FIA Lowland World Cup, the Argentinean Fernando Álvarez after the first two rounds (Saudi Arabia and Greece).

In this 40th edition, once again the rival to beat will be Nasser Al-Attiyah, who for the first time will be driving a T3 category vehicle in this event. Winning his seventh victory in the Aragonese race will be a major challenge for the Qatari with a vehicle of these characteristics.

Other names in this edition of the Baja España Aragón will be the Portuguese Joao Ferreira, the Argentinean Juan Cruz Yacopini and the Frenchman Mathieu Serradori, all of them with T1+ units. Within the Spanish representation, the presence of Daniel Alonso with a Ford Ranger T1+ and Santiago Carnicer, strong candidates for victory in the Spanish Off-Road Rally Championship, stand out. Carnicer arrives as leader with a 57-point cushion over Federico Guillermo Mogni and María Luis Gameiro.

Schareina, the favorite in motorcycles

In the motorcycle category, the Baja España Aragón will be the third race of the season in which Mohammed Al Balooshi is the leader with just two points ahead of Honda's Portuguese rider Pedro Bianchi Prata.

In Teruel, the World Cup leader will meet two of the favorites for victory, the Spaniards Tosha Schareina (winner in the last two editions) and Lorenzo Santolino.

In the Spanish Raid TT Championship, Javier Vega will try to consolidate his leadership in the scratch general classification. The rider from Madrid will arrive in Aragón with a small cushion of 26 points over Guillem Martínez. In quads, the rival to beat one more year will be Dani Vilà.

For the third consecutive year, the Baja España Aragón will count with the presence of a dozen teams that will take part in the Trail and Maxi Trail categories, where the presence of Javier Sola, Alberto Yañez or Joan Pedrero stands out.

Macik, the rival to beat in the truck category

In the truck category, thirteen teams will take part this weekend in the Baja España Aragón. Czech Martin Macik is the rival to beat one more year. Three times winner in Teruel, he will have in the Spanish team formed by Javier Maizcurrena, Ángel Irribarren and Facundo Vitoria his biggest rivals. With the IVECO they won the 2023 edition.

On Wednesday, July 24, the activity of the Baja España Aragón will begin with the administrative and technical verifications, which will also be extended to Thursday, July 25.
