Baja Aragon 2025: Alberto Dorsch Tackles His 20th Baja Aragón Aiming for a Spot on the Podium
The Madrid-based driver, accompanied by his co-driver Marcos Martínez, will take part for the twentieth time in the legendary Aragón race, which counts toward the Spanish Cross-Country Rally Championship (CERTT) and the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Bajas.
With three consecutive podiums this season, the Kobe Motor team will aim to score as many points as possible in the T2 category to stay in the fight for the title.
"I'm going to enjoy this edition of Baja Aragón, which is super special for me. I raced my first one in 2002, and this year we’re more motivated than ever."
Alberto Dorsch and Kobe Motor will once again be at the starting line of the Baja España Aragón, taking place from July 25 to 27. This won’t be just another race for the Madrid native—it will be his 20th time competing in one of the most iconic events on the calendar, a very special milestone that comes at a pivotal moment in the 2025 Spanish Cross-Country Rally Championship (CERTT).
With three second-place finishes in the first three rounds of the season, Dorsch and his co-driver Marcos Martínez arrive in Teruel sitting second in the overall T2 standings, just 16 points behind the leader, with a clear goal: to close the gap at the top. The Baja Aragón, also part of the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Bajas, will cover a total of 779 kilometers, 470 of which are timed.
The route will begin Friday with a short 6-kilometer prologue in Gea de Albarracín, followed by two timed stages totaling 332 kilometers on Saturday. The race will conclude Sunday with one final 132-kilometer special, repeating part of Saturday’s stage in the Argente and Cella area. It will be two intense days requiring mechanical reliability, steady pace, and strong navigation skills.
"I'm going to enjoy this edition of the Baja Aragón, which is super special for me. I raced my first one in 2002, and this year we’re more fired up than ever. Our top priorities are to race hard, avoid setbacks, make a good impression, and most importantly—have fun," Dorsch explains.
The Kobe Motor team has shown strength and consistency throughout the season behind the wheel of their reliable Toyota Land Cruiser. They’ll be among the 167 car entries in the Teruel-based event, which brings together some of the world’s top rally-raid specialists.
"My goal for this race is to push really hard. We've finished second in the other three events, and the whole team is going to give it everything to get a win in T2 and close the gap in the championship. The car has been fully checked, we’re energized and ready. This isn’t just another Baja for me—it’s my 20th edition, and that makes it really special."
With the support of the Miracar team and the confidence that comes with experience, the Madrid-based driver is once again going all out for a result that keeps him in title contention. It won’t be easy, but if Dorsch has proven anything over two decades at the Baja, it’s his speed and consistency.
