The Spanish automaker will participate in the 2026 edition of the world’s toughest motorsport event with a T1+ car.

EBRO, the Spanish automotive brand that began marketing its models in late 2024, has announced its entry into the 2026 Dakar Rally with an official factory team. The event, scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia from January 3 to 17, will see EBRO compete with a T1+ category 4x4 vehicle — the top class in the FIA World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) — aiming for a strong finish among the world’s elite.

With this move, EBRO returns to one of the most prestigious motorsport events in the world. The brand previously made history in the 2022 Dakar by debuting an electric SSV as a zero car, becoming a pioneer in the Dakar Future initiative — a groundbreaking moment in over four decades of the event. That appearance marked EBRO’s first step back onto the world stage shortly before its official relaunch. Now, four years later, the brand is ready to write a new chapter, entering elite motorsport with a long-term commitment.

The Dakar Rally is the ultimate motorsport adventure — a physical, mental, and mechanical battle against the elements — and serves as the ideal platform to reflect the values of a young brand with a proud legacy.

“We’re thrilled to return to the Dakar. It’s the most extreme motorsport challenge on the planet, and for EBRO, it represents a unique opportunity to push our limits while embracing the core values that define us — sacrifice, teamwork, courage, and determination,” said Pedro Calef, CEO of EBRO Motors.
“Competing across unforgiving deserts will test our capabilities and allow us to grow as a brand while reinforcing what made EBRO’s original DNA so strong: robustness and reliability.”

A Relaunched Brand on the Road to Success

The legendary EBRO brand, with over 70 years of history, played a key role in the evolution of Spain’s automotive industry. Relaunched in 2023, EBRO began sales in December 2024, marking one of the most successful brand comebacks in Spanish automotive history — with the launch of three models (s800, s700, and s400) and the creation of a nationwide network of 60 dealerships in just seven months.

The Dakar Rally announcement comes just two months after EBRO signed a partnership agreement with the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to become an official sponsor of the men’s and women’s national teams, as well as the U21 team.
