Baja Aragon 2025: Gonçalo Guerreiro Impresses with Prologue Win at Baja Aragón
bp Ultimate Adventure Team off to a Strong Start in Spain
The 41st edition of the Baja España Aragón is underway, and Gonçalo Guerreiro, racing for the bp Ultimate Adventure Team, made a statement right from the start. Behind the wheel of a Polaris SSV, and guided by co-driver Joel Lutas, the young Portuguese talent claimed 1st place in the SSV class during today’s prologue in Teruel, Spain.
Not only was Guerreiro the fastest in his category, but his time also earned him a spot in the overall Top 10, lining up among some of the most experienced and decorated drivers on the global rally-raid circuit.
“The prologue went really well. We avoided mistakes and kept a fast pace throughout,” Guerreiro said. “It’s a great start to a race that I really enjoy—especially since I won here last year. The course will be demanding, but with the weather not too hot, we’re focused on managing our performance carefully.”
This year’s Baja Aragón is part of the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Bajas and the European Baja Cup, attracting elite competitors from around the globe. It’s one of the most respected events on the calendar, known for its tough terrain, high-speed sections, and unpredictable challenges.
Tomorrow’s racing brings the first full stage of the rally, with two Selective Sections:
-
SS1: 132 km
-
SS2: 200 km
The course will wind through the mountainous and technical landscapes of the Sierra de Albarracín, Jiloca, and Cuencas Mineras.
Gonçalo Guerreiro is not just here to compete—he’s here to defend his title. And with today’s performance, he’s made it clear he’s in top form.
