Teruel, Spain – July 27, 2025
The final day of the 2025 Baja España Aragón brought one last challenge—a single 132-kilometer Selective Section from Argente to Cella—and crowned a new champion in the motorcycle category: Lorenzo Santolino.
Riding his Sherco 450, Santolino delivered a commanding performance, winning every stage of the event and never relinquishing the lead. His total time of 6:38:59.0 left no room for doubt—this was total domination, earning him his first-ever Baja Aragón victory.
In second place, Belgian rider Neels Theric crossed the finish +6:09 behind, marking his first podium appearance in the rally, as well as a historic debut for KOVE on the Baja Aragón rostrum. In a beautiful twist of fate, Theric follows in the footsteps of his father, who won the Baja in the 1980s riding for Honda, alongside Lacroix during the days of two-man teams.
Taking third was Alonso Trigo (KTM / Namura Racing), who impressed in his Baja Aragón debut. Previously a motocross and enduro competitor, Trigo adapted quickly to the rally raid format, finishing just +11:22.0 off the lead and clearly marking himself as one to watch.
Alfredo Pellicer (KTM X Raids Experience), another promising debutant and son of legendary rally rider José Manuel Pellicer, came painfully close to the podium but had to settle for fourth after a late crash cost him crucial time in the final kilometers. Thankfully, the incident had no physical consequences.
Rounding out the top five was Javi Vega, competing for the first time with KOVE in the FIM Baja class. The Madrid native has finished every edition of the Baja Aragón he has entered—and once again showed the consistency and pace that he’ll be bringing to the next Dakar Rally.
In the quad category, Kevin Giroud (Yamaha) emerged as the top finisher, breaking into the overall Top 10 scratch among all motorcycles and quads.
Among the trail riders, rally veteran Joan Pedrero (Harley-Davidson) stole the spotlight by winning the Maxitrail class and finishing an astonishing 15th overall (and 12th among bikes only). In the FIM Baja Trail category, Italy’s Alessandro Ruoso (Yamaha) claimed the top spot.
The competition remained fierce until the final kilometers, with riders pushing themselves—and their machines—to the limit in search of a spot among the front-runners. The combination of varied terrain and strategic navigation made for a thrilling conclusion to the 2025 edition.
