Daniel Silva Gains Momentum in World and European Cup Event
Tiago Reis and Daniel Silva will compete in the Baja Aragón, a race taking place from Friday, July 25 through Sunday, July 27 in Teruel, in the Spanish region of Aragón.
Counting toward both the FIA World Cup and the FIA European Cup for Bajas, the Spanish event is also one of the most competitive on the global and European calendars. A total of 165 drivers, between cars and trucks, are registered for what is considered—after Dakar—one of the most iconic events in the series, drawing top teams and drivers from around the world.
Tiago Reis brings two major updates to Baja Aragón: first, his vehicle—the brand-new TAURUS T3 EVO MAX—and second, his co-driver for the event, Fábio Ribeiro.
“The car is the latest evolution from TAURUS. If the previous model already delivered great performance, I believe this new EVO MAX will give us just a bit more. We’re optimistic about testing its pace here,” said the driver, who will be partnered by co-driver Fábio Ribeiro, as Paulo Fiúza is unavailable for this race.
“I know Fábio from the team—he usually navigates for my brother Edgar—so with Paulo unavailable, it was a natural choice to bring him along to Aragón,” he added.
Tiago Reis is focused on earning points toward the European Cup, in which he is officially entered.
“We didn’t have much luck at the Italian Baja due to a mechanical issue, but we made it to the finish. Now in Aragón, we’ll be aiming to score points that put us in a strong position in the European Cup standings.”
Team Transfradelos will also field Daniel Silva, who will be navigated by Gonçalo Magalhães.
“It’s a demanding event that will allow us to test under race conditions, improve our performance, and gain valuable experience for the future,” said Silva.
Baja Aragón features a timed course of 545 kilometers, spread across a Friday Prologue (6.78 km), followed by two stages on Saturday (366.08 km) and Sunday (172.7 km).
