The Algarve will once again welcome the thrill of portuguese cross-country rallying

Next Friday, the excitement of cross-country rallying returns to the Algarve region, with the novelty that this year the epicentre of the action will be in the city of the Discoveries. It's from Lagos that competitors with their cars, motorbikes, SSV’s or quads will do their best on the return to western Algarve’s challenging tracks.
With the operational centre being set up at the Lagos sports complex and the service park being set up very close by at the local FAIRGROUND, the public will have their first chance to see the machines in action at the prologue, which will take place from 2.15pm in the grounds behind the new cemetery and the Tecnopólis school. Another of Friday's highlights will be the official start in Praça do Infante from 7.30pm, which will be a very entertaining moment shared with the public, as well as the choice of starting order for the ten fastest cars in the prologue.
On Saturday and Sunday, competitors will tackle the 158-kilometre selective sector, setting off from the village of Barão de S. João to take on the challenge proposed in the municipalities of Lagos, Aljezur, Portimão, Monchique and Silves, with the competitive action ending in S. Marcos da Serra. Highlights include the areas recommended for the public in Bensafrim, on the off-road track at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve and in S. Marcos da Serra.
All the action can be followed on CLUBE AUTOMÓVEL DO ALGARVE’S social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), as well as on the website https://caa.ies.pt/baja-de-lagos-2024/ , where you can find all the information, and on the Sportity app (passwords: lagosfpak and lagosfmp).
The Baja de Lagos 2024 is organised by the Clube Automóvel do Algarve, under the auspices of the Portuguese Automobile and Karting Federation and the Portuguese Motorcycling Federation, and also has Algar’s Eco-Event label. This event has the support of the Municipality of Lagos and its counterparts in Aljezur, Monchique, Portimão and Silves, and is also sponsored by Solverde Casinos e Hotéis, InternacionalCar, Strongmedi and Medronhito do Caldeirão.
