FMP event: Non FIA SSV's

Pedro Pinha/Joaquim Dias (Polaris) win the stage

On the final day of the Baja de Lagos, David Rodrigues / Nilton Lopes (855), driving a Can-Am, held on to the lead and secured victory with a margin of 1m13s over the runner-up. Rodrigues also claimed 1st place among the Veterans.

In 2nd place finished Sérgio Palminha (863) in a Can-Am, competing solo.
3rd place went to Ricardo Lourenço (888)2nd among the Veterans — who, also in a Can-Am, was navigated by Manuel Santos.

With the overall top three established, it is worth noting that the final selective sector was dominated by two crews starting from very late positions.

Pedro Pinha / Joaquim Soares, winners of the 2024 edition of the Baja de Lagos, made their debut in a Polaris RZR Pro. After issues in the Prologue and SS1, they bounced back to win SS2.
2nd place in SS2 went to André Rodrigues / Ricardo Porto Nunes in a Segway Super Villain, finishing one minute behind Pinha’s benchmark time.
Also starting from the back, Gonçalo Guerra / Luís Engeitado climbed to 4th place in SS2, just behind Sérgio Palminha.

In the overall classification, André Carita / Nuno Abrantes (Can-Am) finished 4th, with Rodrigo Melancia / João Diogo (Can-Am) in 5th, the latter taking victory in the Stock Category.

The remaining podium places in the Stock Category mirrored the general classification order:

  • Nelson Saramago (860) / João Charrua (Polaris)
  • Alexandre Silva (843) / Rui Cascalho (Polaris)
The two crews were separated by just 10 seconds.

8th place overall went to the Segway Super Villain of João and Luís Araújo.

The 4th place in the Stock Category, achieved by Arnaldo Monteiro / Farinha Duarte in a Can-Am, allowed Monteiro to clinch the Stock Category title by the slimmest of margins.

Tiago Gomes (880) — former Quad champion — navigated by André Correia and driving a CFMoto SSV, completed the Top 10, though a penalty cost him what would have been a win among the Stock contenders.

The duo Micael Vitória / Fábio Pratas (Segway) won the SSV TT2 Class, in which they secured the championship title, and Vitória was also the top Junior competitor in this Baja de Lagos.
