Baja de Lagos 2025: Team Transfradelos takes victory in the Portuguese Championship
Tiago Reis crowned Portuguese Champion in the Challenger T3
Daniel Silva finishes as vice-champion
Tiago Reis won the Baja de Lagos, securing both the overall victory and the win in the Challenger T3 category — a triumph that confirmed him as Portuguese Champion in this class. The Team Transfradelos driver was the fastest in both Selective Sections of the event held over the weekend in the Algarve region, finishing ahead of Daniel Silva, who took second place.
The result achieved by the two drivers from Famalicão also earned Team Transfradelos the confirmation of the Teams’ Title in the 2025 season of the Portuguese Cross-Country Rally Championship (CPTT).
“It was a tough year, and this overall victory in the final race of the championship is a reward for all the effort we put in throughout the season,” said Tiago Reis at the end of the race. The driver competed at the Baja de Lagos in an MMP-built car, which “met our expectations and allowed us to be consistently fast in the Selective Sections and secure the win.”
Daniel Silva, driving a Taurus T3, finished in second place, a result that also placed him second overall in the CPTT. “It was an excellent race — we managed to set a very good pace and stay consistently fast. Second overall, second in the Challenger T3, and second in the championship in this category leaves us very happy, especially considering we didn’t start the year in the best way,” the driver noted at the end of the event.
Edgar Reis was forced to retire at the end of the first day due to mechanical issues that took him out of the competition.
The consistency shown by the Team Transfradelos drivers secured the squad the victory in the Teams’ Championship of the CPTT — a well-deserved reward for the effort of the entire structure, which throughout the year relied on the collective performance of its three drivers — Tiago Reis, Edgar Reis and Daniel Silva — who scored points in every race.
