The Side by Side Italian Championship is back, and Federico Buttò is back in the race. In fact, the driver from Pordenone takes part in the “Baja dello Stella,” the fourth stage of the tricolor event reserved for tubular vehicles, scheduled for Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21 in Rivignano Teor (also valid for the National Cross Country Championship). After the summer break, the national series resumes and does so in Friuli with an entirely new round on the calendar, in which the driver participates on Can Am Maverick X3 managed by Marco Zini's Hrt Technology team. Navigated by Alberto Marcon, Buttò, second in the standings, will try to go on the attack of trophy leader Andrea Castagnera, who is first with a 39-point lead over the Friulian competitor.
“I'm returning to the race after the Italian Baja, the last stage of the tricolor trophy in which I did not express myself as I wanted to,” says the driver. ”The motivation therefore is not lacking, if we take into account that I also want to get closer to my rival. It will not be easy, because the latter, in addition to going strong, has accumulated a fair margin. However, I will try to stay ahead of him: there are still two championship stages available and until the last meter of selective sector I will fight for the first place.”
During the championship, Buttò won the classification reserved for SSVs at the Baja Colline Metallifere: a success that had allowed him to rise to the top of the championship standings, a leadership later ceded to Castagnera at the Italian Baja.
