  • Baja TT Escuderia Castelo Branco takes place from March 21st to 23rd
  • The event is eligible for several national and international competitions
  • Almost two hundred teams in competition

From March 21 to 23, the city of Castelo Branco will host the second event in the national championships, for cars, motorcycles, quads and SSVs. Over three days, almost two hundred teams will try to be the fastest on the demanding tracks of Beira Baixa. The response to the call has been tremendous and we anticipate a competition that is not only hotly contested, but also spectacular.

This time, Escuderia Castelo Branco has prepared an edition that stands out for the choice of tracks that will be completely new and thus present an additional challenge for the competitors. The tracks defined by the organization's technical managers have been designed so that the participants compete in traditional Beira Baixa track conditions. As such, there will be some very fast segments that are also technically demanding. Entrants can also expect sections where the speed will be lower, but always spectacular for all those who decide to watch the race live and on site.

While the sporting dimension is guaranteed, there has also been a concern to bring motor racing closer to the people. Thus, the closed park will be in the center of Castelo Branco, while the service park will have all the conditions to receive the teams. Escuderia Castelo Branco has prepared the city's Motorsport Park, which will be the center of all the action when the cars, bikes, quads and SSVs are not on the track.

“At Escuderia Castelo Branco we are very happy to be able to organize this race. This way we can return to a region that has always contributed greatly to off-road racing and its growth. The hard work we've put in over the last few months means we can look forward to the coming weekend with great enthusiasm,” explained the car's race director, Nuno Almeida Santos.

Sérgio Sequeira, race director for the motorcycles, praises “the interest that this edition of the Baja Escuderia Castelo Branco” has aroused in the field. Proof of this are the many entrants who will be facing “a demanding course in which there has been a concern to promote the pleasure of riding for the competitors and the spectacle for the public,” he said.

Three intense days of competition in Castelo Branco

Between Friday and Sunday, there will be plenty of reasons to follow the Baja Escuderia Castelo Branco. Once the documentary and technical procedures have been completed, the competition begins in the early afternoon with the prologue for motorcycles, quads and SSVs. The following day, these competitors will complete a 188-kilometer selective sector and on Sunday, they will race for another 169 kilometers against the clock.

Among the cars, the competition is concentrated on Saturday (the 22nd) and Sunday (the 23rd). On the first day, the first competitor will start the prologue at 10h05, while the 169 kilometers of SS1 will be contested from 13h35. The following day, SS2 is the 188-kilometer route covered by motorcycles, quads and SSVs on the previous day. In total, the teams have almost 360 kilometers of timed sectors ahead of them.

Also noteworthy is the mini-baja. The youngest competitors will cover almost 90 kilometers, between the prologue and SS1, on Saturday.
