The Baja España Aragón – Trofeo Getac will not count towards the 2026 Spanish Cross-Country Rally Championship (CERTT GT2i) following the postponement of the event to September.
The Real Federación Española de Automovilismo (RFEDA) confirmed the decision after organisers announced that the 42nd edition of the Baja España Aragón will now take place from 11 to 13 September 2026.
The event had previously been postponed due to force majeure circumstances linked to the high risk of forest fires. Its relocation within the international calendar subsequently required the Spanish federation and the parties involved to reassess its position within the national championship.
After considering several alternatives, RFEDA decided that the Baja España Aragón – Trofeo Getac will retain its full sporting and international status but will not award points towards the CERTT GT2i this season.
The decision has a direct impact on the championship finale.
With the Baja España Aragón removed from the points-scoring calendar, the Cierzo Rally Ejército de Tierra, scheduled for the first weekend of September, will now become the final round of the 2026 Spanish Cross-Country Rally Championship.
The event will therefore determine the final overall classifications across the different CERTT GT2i categories.
RFEDA said the solution was adopted after discussions with the organisations involved and thanked the Baja España Aragón and Cierzo Rally organisers, as well as teams, officials, sponsors and other parties, for their cooperation during what it described as an exceptional situation.
The Baja España Aragón will nevertheless go ahead on its new September date, preserving its sporting and international significance despite no longer forming part of the Spanish championship points battle in 2026.
