Portuguese participants monopolize all the podiums in the Eighth Edition of the Baja TT Dehesa Extremadura

Absolute dominance of the Portuguese representation in the eighth edition of the Baja TT Dehesa de Extremadura -G-Oil, with victory in cars of the favorite team of the race, formed by Joáo Ferreira and Filipe Palmeiro at the controls of their impressive MINI JHON COOPER. In motorcycles, the Portuguese Bruno Santos (HUSQVARNA) also won after two days of real superiority over his pursuers.

The race was developed with important novelties compared to the previous edition, including the fact that the first special stage was held in Portugal, specifically in the town of Elvas, and ended that same day with a special stage that was highly valued among the participants, in the maneuvering field of the General Menacho Base, which was spectacular.

In cars, the first day was dominated by light vehicles, which imposed their smaller size to overcome their “big brothers” in the winding tracks of the Extremadura pasture. Already on the second day held today, the greater power and effectiveness of the spectacular T1 Plus, marked their law and managed to impose themselves in some faster sections, to get the victory and the second final place. They were specifically the aforementioned Ferreira - Palmeiro in first position, followed by the TOYOTA HILUX of the Portuguese couple Barreto - Duarte, being the third place, first among the CHALLENGER category for the duo Carneiro - Fuente with a G-RALLY OT3.

Among the ladies, victory also went to a Portuguese, Maria Gameiro, accompanied in her MINI by Jose Marques. Among the SSVs, victory went to the Pole Tomasz Bialkowski.

In the motorcycle category, Portuguese rider Bruno Santos with HUSQVARNA dominated from the very first day, imposing a strong pace and making a significant difference from the first special stage with respect to his pursuers. Second place went to the Portuguese David Megre with KAWASAKI, with the first Spaniard, Javier Vega (YAMAHA) in third position. It should be noted that the difference between the leading trio and the fourth classified exceeded one hour.

The Baja TT ends with great sporting level and participation, two days without incidents of mention in which the Motor Club Villafranca team again demonstrated its great organizational capacity.
