Baja Extremadura 2025: Tiago Reis and Paulo Fiúza in TAURUS T3 Max at the start of the championship
Tiago Reis and Paulo Fiúza will be at the start of the FIA Bajas European Cross Country Cup, which begins this Thursday, May 1 and runs until Saturday, May 3, with the Baja TT Dehesa Extremadura, in Spain, but with a crossing of the border on the first stage, with a regrouping in Elvas and around 60 kilometers being run on national territory.
“The experience with the TAURUS T3 Max in the Challenger/T3 category has been very good and we're going to take on this race with the aim of testing the pace with the European Cup drivers,” said Tiago Reis, who won the Portuguese Cross-Country Championship (CPTT) race in this category at the weekend. “The truth is that in Portugal we have a very high level championship, which also allows us to be better prepared for these races, as we have proven in other editions.”
The Baja TT Dehesa Extremadura starts with checks and a Shakedown on Thursday, and continues the following day with the Prologue on the banks of the River Guadiana in Badajoz, the first time trial that will determine the starting order for the race. On Friday, the first stage starts from Elvas in Portugal and runs for 110km to Novelda in Badajoz, Spain.
On Saturday there will be two more Selective Sectors, the first totally new, with 140km timed and a second with 180km to the finish line, scheduled for the end of the day.
“We're going to do our best, with the expectation of achieving a good result and scoring points in this European championship,” added Tiago Reis.
