Baja Oeste 2024: Bruno Santos triumphs in Baja Oeste
Portuguese rider supported by Momento TT becomes local title runner-up
Bruno Santos, at the controls of a Husqvarna 450, triumphed in the Portuguese round of the FIM Bajas World Cup by winning the Baja Oeste de Portugal, which was also the final round of the 2024 National Cross-Country Championship. It was a result that enabled the Torres Vedras rider to become runner-up in the absolute national championship and in the TT3 class.
Supported by Momento TT, Bruno Santos completely dominated this competition organized by Escuderia de Castelo Branco, starting by being the fastest in the prologue and, in the following days, winning the two selective sectors of 170.18 km and 112.03 km, finishing the race more than 5' ahead of second place.
“It was a good race for me. I started attacking straight away in the prologue. It's great to finish the Championship like this. I won here last year and I'll win again this year. It's my first CNTT win this year. I'm sorry I didn't win others, but I'm very happy with this result, with the result I've achieved in the Championship this season. I'm now going to continue preparing for the Dakar adventure, which is the highlight of the season,” said Bruno Santos, who added about his participation in the world's premier TT event: ”I've been working hard over the last few weeks to prepare for the Dakar. At the end of this month, a large part of the logistics will have to be in place, which means that we have to prepare very carefully beforehand. Everything that needs to be done and finalized is now. This race, being the last in the championship and taking place a little later, has also forced me into a different dynamic, but everything is going well and I'm happy with this season, I haven't picked up any injuries and I hope to continue like this until the Dakar.”
