At the age of 24 and two years after missing out on the top step of the podium by a scant tenth of a second, Martim Ventura (Husqvarna) made his winning debut at the Baja Portalegre 500. “Winning here, after starting Mini Baja at the age of 11, and becoming national champion at the same time, is a childhood dream come true. I dedicate this victory to my father and Pinhel (mechanic), people I've lost, but who have been extremely important in my life and career,” said the ACP rider.

Bruno Santos (Husqvarna) was second, confessing: “Portalegre is always a lot of fun for me. This year it was wet, but not too wet, so we had plenty of traction. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to win, but I put my name on the podium again and without any injuries, which is important for the future. News soon!”

Despite crashing “right at the end, in Coutadas”, Micael Simão (Gas Gas) was third, although he confessed: “It wasn't easy”.
After having been fastest on the opening day, a crash and a problem with his bike's throttle compromised the ambitions of António Maio (Yamaha), who was looking for his ninth victory in the race. The GNR military rider was fourth, ahead of Tomás Dias (Honda).
