Leading from start to finish, on sectors carved out of Sardinian land for rallying yet conquered with the power of his Toyota Hilux Overdrive. It is a key victory that of Manuele Mengozzi and Mirko Brun at the 5th Baja Vermentino Terre di Gallura, the penultimate round of the Italian Cross Country Championship. The Romagnolo left only one sector to the others, proving his crystal-clear performance that earned him a big leap in the Championship standings, which so now will close only and exclusively in Hungary. At the foot of the podium were Sergio Galletti and Daniele Fontana Sacchetti on Suzuki Grand Vitara 3P, with an important margin over Alberto Spinetti and Lara Giusti, who, however, at the end of the race received a 3' penalty for assistance in an impermissible zone (decision No. 2 of the stewards).
