Press Release on the Cancellation of the FIA European Baja Cup - Baja Troia 2024

Dear Baja Troia Racers and Teams,
For the Baja Troia 2024 race planned to be organized in Çanakkale, our club has carried out 8 months of meticulous work, organized many meetings with local authorities and prepared all stages of the race without any problems. In this context:
- 17 vehicles and 75 gendarmerie personnel,
- 6 vehicles and 24 AFAD (RESCUE) personnel,
- 8 fire trucks, 6 of which are 4x4, and 28 fire personnel,
- 6 4x4 ambulances, 2 4x2 ambulances and 19 emergency medical personnel,
- 22 radio communication devices and
- A total of 160 room reservations have been made in 3 hotels.
With the support of the Governor's Office, the Special Provincial Administration, Highways, Provincial Directorate of GSGM, Çanakkale Municipality, Provincial Police Department, Provincial Gendarmerie Command, Uludağ Electricity, Regional Directorate of Forestry and other institutions have determined the duty locations of all the teams that will be on duty during the race and all necessary preparations have been completed.
However, as a result of the number of racers not reaching the number required by the championship from a “sportive” point of view, a consensus was reached with TOSFED that the race could not be held, and a decision was taken by the FIA to cancel the race.
The Baja Troia race will take place on May 15-18 in the FIA calendar for 2025. According to the new calendar, we are excitedly waiting for all our racers for our Baja Troia Turkey race in May 2025. We have prepared stages that you will enjoy and be excited about. See you on May 15-18, 2025.
Best regards,
