Baja TT Cuenca 2026: World Off-Road Comes to Cuenca.
Cuenca is ready to roar. This Friday marks the start of the Baja TT Cuenca, one of the major events on the national and international motorsport calendar, bringing together more than 140 car, motorcycle, and quad teams from Spain, Portugal, Lithuania, the United Arab Emirates, Poland, the United Kingdom, Italy, and the Czech Republic.
The action will begin at 16:30 with the Prologue stage, a 10-kilometre adrenaline-filled route that, despite its short length, will be decisive. This opening section will determine the starting order for Saturday’s stage, forcing competitors to push to the limit from the very beginning on a course designed to test speed, precision, and driving skill.
Following the Prologue, the city will experience one of the most anticipated moments of the weekend: the starting podium ceremony. From 19:45 onwards, Carretería Street will become the centrepiece of the motorsport celebration, with teams parading beneath the starting arch in front of Cuenca’s fans, turning the city centre into a true sporting and social spectacle.
The Baja TT Cuenca will feature several leading names from the national and international off-road scene, including regular Dakar competitors, European Cup contenders, and national championship stars, alongside local representatives led by Luis Recuenco, a contender for both the Spanish and European titles.
All of them will share the spotlight with fans, media representatives, and visitors travelling to the World Heritage city to enjoy a unique event.
The official ceremony will also bring together authorities including the Mayor of Cuenca, the President of the Provincial Council, representatives of the Castilla-La Mancha regional government, leading figures from the sporting sector, and the President of Club Cuenca Motor. As guest of honour, iconic Dakar co-driver Lucas Cruz will attend the event and, during Sunday’s prize-giving ceremony, receive the III Cuenca 2026 Honorary Award presented by the organising club.
During Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May, competitors will tackle nearly 600 kilometres across some of the most spectacular landscapes on the Iberian Peninsula, further establishing Baja TT Cuenca as a benchmark event that combines sporting challenge, international projection, and an exceptional natural setting.
Víctor Alijas, event organiser and President of Club Cuenca Motor, highlighted that “the public will experience an event on the level of the world’s major international competitions. This race belongs to the drivers, but also to the province that hosts it. We want every team to leave with the best sporting memories of Spain.”
The Baja TT Cuenca is officially sponsored by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, the Cuenca City Council, and the Provincial Council of Cuenca.
