Baja TT Montes Alentejanos 2024: João Ramos wins prologue of ESC Online Baja TT Montes Alentejanos
The duo of João Ramos and Jorge Carvalho, in a Toyota Hilux T1+, finished first today in the 7.32 km prologue of the ESC Online Baja TT Montes Alentejanos, which took place in Beja. The driver outperformed his opponents, finishing with a lead of almost 4 seconds over the second-placed driver, Luís Portela Morais, who, in an OT3 and accompanied by Luís Engeitado, was also the fastest among the T3 Class vehicles.
João Ramos was pleased with this result: "The prologue went well and the result is clear to see. I was able to set a very strong pace. The Hilux has undergone some improvements in terms of power, because the FIA has allowed the Hilux to have more power, and you can see that compared to last year, because the car is exactly the same. I could clearly see that you get into the corners a lot quicker and I felt that I was quite fast. Everything went well and I hope I can build on this result for the rest of the race," said the driver.
Also in Toyota Hilux T1+, champion Tiago Reis, navigated by Válter Cardoso, took third place in the prologue. Next positions went to three pairs of T3 Class teams: Armindo Araújo/Pedro Ré, João Dias/João Filipe Miranda and Alexandre Pinto/Bernardo Oliveira, all in Can-Am.
The duo of Nuno Madeira/José Janela in a Ford Ranger posted the best time in T1, while in T2, Eduardo Rodrigues and António Antunes (Toyota Land Cruiser) were the fastest. In the T4 class, the duo of Ruben Rodrigues and Rui Paulo (Can-Am) came out on top and in the T8 class, Michael Braun and Ivo Santos (Porsche Cayenne Proto) stood out. In the T9 group, Miguel Teodoro came first, navigated by Gonçalo Rosado (Nissan D21).
The ESC Online Baja TT Montes Alentejanos continues tomorrow with the first selective sector with 140.61 timed kilometers. The race will cover a total of 359.90 km, of which 288.65 will be timed.
