Baja TT Montes Alentejanos 2025: Ferreira Wins Season Opener in Portugal
First Victory of the Season for the MINI JCW Rally 3.0d
Ferreira and Palmeiro claim a convincing victory
Just a few weeks after their sensational eighth-place finish at the Dakar Rally, João Ferreira and Filipe Palmeiro won the Baja Montes Alentejanos, the first event of the Portuguese Offroad Championship. There was no way past the MINI JCW Rally 3.0d crew throughout the entire event.
Ferreira and Palmeiro led the way in the MINI JCW Rally 3.0d in all three stages. They already proved their strength in the prologue, navigating the tight course to outperform numerous Side-by-Sides. On Saturday, they won the first special stage over 167.44 kilometers with more than a one-minute lead. On Sunday, the two Portuguese drivers took it up another notch, securing victory with an advantage of over three minutes. With this dominant performance, they claimed the opening event in Portugal in style.
The second round of the Portuguese Championship, the Baja TT Escuderia, will take place from March 21–23, 2025. But before that, the X-raid team will compete in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, the second event of the FIA World Rally-Raid Championship
João Ferreira (MINI JCW Rally 3.0d): "It was a perfect weekend. We won all the stages and secured the maximum points for the championship. Thanks to X-raid for this amazing weekend!"
