The ESC Online Baja Montes Alentejanos 2025, the round that marks the start of the AM | 48 Portuguese Rally-Raid Championship, run under the auspices of the FPAK, features a luxury entry list with seven T1+ cars, but also many big names in the T1, T3 and T4 categories.
With national champion João Ferreira and his Mini JCW Rally 3.0d entered by X-raid at the head, the T1+ list continues with the participation of João Ramos, Francisco Barreto and Spaniard Luís Recuenco in Toyota Hilux, Alejandro Martins in Mini JCW Rally Plus and the novelties of Pedro Dias da Silva in Ford Ranger and Dutch driver Dave Klassen in Red Revo.
In the T3 category, former national champions Miguel Barbosa and Tiago Reis in Taurus, Nuno Matos in a VW Amarock, FMP SSV National Champion Pedro Santinho Mendes in a Can Am Maverick X3, Pedro Carvalho and Paulo Rodrigues in identical machines, Mário Franco in a Yamaha, Alexandre Franco in an X-Raid Turbo Prototype, Daniel Silva and Edgar Reis in Tauros, Filipe Nascimento in a PH Sport Zephyr and João Rato in a GPR 24.
The 2024 T3 national champion, João Dias, has moved up to the T4 category, where he will compete in a Can Am Maverick X3 and his main opponent will be Gonçalo Guerreiro in a Polaris Pro R. Luís Cidade and Herlander Araújo will be the main newcomers, competing in a Can Am Maverick X3.
In the very competitive T1 category, the highlight goes to national champion Edgar Condenso in a Ford Ranger, who will be joined by Lino Carapeta, Nuno Madeira, José Rogeira and Jorge Cardoso in identical machines, Miguel Casaca in a Volkswagen Amarok, Joel Marrazes in a Mercedes Benz V 230 TD, Hugo Raposo in a Nissan Proto and newcomers Vítor Figueiredo in a Mini Cooper D Proto and Dutchman Jasper Herman in a Red Lined VK 50.
Rounding off the main entries is T8 champion Johannes Senders, now in a Fiat Fullback Proto, whose main opponents will be Cláudio Carapeta in a Bowler Willdcat Proto and Filipe Cachopas in a BMW 346L Proto. In the T9 category, defending champion Sérgio Mourato remains, and the only female driver, Leonor Barreto in a Nissan Pickup 2.7 TDi, will compete, while newcomer Jorge Franco in a Nissan Navara D22 will be the only one competing in the T2 category, in a car with a long history in the Franco family.
The ESC Online Baja TT Montes Alentejanos kicks off on February 14 with a brand new 10 km prologue, secret to all the riders, located next to the Shooting Range at Herdade “Cabeça de Ferro”, which will be broadcast live on the internet by Streaming, The same broadcast will take place on Friday evening when the group photo of all the competitors will be taken from 21:00 onwards on the event podium, which is located in the Beja Fair and Exhibition Park, where the starting ceremony will also take place at 21:30. The competition will cover a total of 420.78 km, 349.84 of which will be timed, divided into two stages, each with a 169.85 km section, to be run on Saturday and Sunday.
