The bp Ultimate Adventure Team returned to Portugal’s national off-road scene in style, with two of its drivers taking class wins in the prologue of the 2026 Baja TT Montes Alentejanos — the season opener for both the National and Portuguese Off-Road Championships, currently being contested on the demanding tracks of the Baixo Alentejo.

On the 5.64-kilometre prologue laid out on the outskirts of Beja, Luís Portela Morais — co-driven by Carlos Jorge Mendes in a Polaris — was the fastest in the T4 category in the car competition, while also posting the second quickest time overall.

It was also a standout debut for young Bernardo Passanha, the latest addition to the bp Ultimate Adventure Team. Navigated by Xavier Albino, Passanha set the best time in the brand-new Can-Am Challenge. Competing in Beja in his first-ever round of the National Championship, the duo also placed an impressive fourth overall in the SSV classification.

Miguel Barbosa also enjoyed a highly encouraging first outing in a Polaris T4. With Joel Lutas alongside, he recorded the fourth fastest time in class and secured seventh overall in the auto standings.

In the motorcycle competition, reigning European Baja Champion David Megre — riding a KTM — delivered a solid performance that places him fifth in the TT2 class and eighth overall after the prologue.

The ESC Online Baja TT Montes Alentejanos features a total of 361.38 kilometres against the clock, built around a 120.46 km selective section to be run three times. Saturday will include two selective sectors for FMP competitors and one for FPAK entries, with the format reversed on Sunday.
