The Baja TT Sharish Gin - Reguengos de Monsaraz-Mourão is just a week away from its start. On September 20, Reguengos de Monsaraz will host this sporting event, which until September 22 promises to liven up the town and attract thousands of motorsport enthusiasts, as will the town of Mourão, once again involved in this major motorsport competition.
The registration period for the FIM/FMP race ends on Friday and for the cars there are already 89 entries (55 for the FIA race and 34 for the National Event). The respective lists of participants will be released shortly and the final preparations are now being made to host what is one of the biggest events in the region.
In addition to the sporting component, the scene is set to welcome the Kartcross Group from Ourém, Marco Martins and his spectacular Mini and the fantastic stunts of Cajó - stunt rider, in a program that will also include musical entertainment by DJ Vassalo.
At international level, the 36th edition of the Baja TT Sharish Gin Reguengos/Mourão is eligible for the FIA Bajas European Championship and the FIM European Championship for Motorcycles, Quads and SSVs, as well as the Terras do Grande Lago Alqueva Trophy. On a national level, it scores points for the FPAK Portuguese Championship for cars and the FMP National Championship for motorcycles, quads and SSVs.
The 36th edition of the Baja TT Sharish Gin Reguengos/Mourão takes place in the municipalities of Reguengos de Monsaraz, Mourão and Redondo. The competition will cover a total of 502.55 km, of which 350 km will be timed, in the case of the FIM and CNTT competition, while the auto competition will comprise a total of 355 km timed.
The route is divided into three stages. The race kicks off on Friday, September 20 with a 30 km sector, which will be joined by two more selective sectors. Those entered in the FIM and CNTT competitions will have to tackle a 161 km section on Saturday and another 133 km section on Sunday. The cars will face two 161 km selective sectors on Saturday and Sunday. The prize-giving ceremony for motorcycles, quads and SSVs will take place at 3.30 p.m. on the same day, and at 6 p.m. for the cars.
