The Portuguesel Cross-Country Championship is back after the usual summer break, and with it the Wingmotor Honda team is also returning to competition. Salvador Amaral, who this year took on the challenge of competing in the very demanding TT2 Class, will this time be the only member of the team competing in the Baja TT Sharish Gin Reguengos de Monsaraz-Mourão, which from September 19 to 22 will cover the Alentejo tracks of the municipalities that give the race its name, as his brother Gonçalo is unable to take part for professional reasons.

With just a few days to go before the race organized by the Sociedade Artística Reguenguense's Motor Racing Section, Salvador Amaral, a rider who has won several podiums in the TT1 Class in previous CNTT seasons, is heading to the Baja TT Sharish Gin Reguengos de Monsaraz-Mourão just seven points off the absolute TOP 10, and a good performance will significantly improve his position in the Championship.

“We're going to resume the championship, which returns in this second phase of the sporting season, after the summer break. I've resumed training as much as possible because I can't neglect work either. I'm feeling better and better on the bike, but I'm still learning on the 450cc bikes and I still have to improve. I always look forward to this race in Reguengos. It's a race where I've already been very happy. It's where I got my first overall podium in the CNTT, with a second place, so it's a race I like a lot, a race that's usually fast, with some dangers. The bike is fantastic. Since my brother won't be there, I'll be racing for both of us. I'm going to do my best to achieve the best possible result,” said Salvador Amaral.

The 36th edition of the Baja TT Sharish Gin Reguengos de Monsaraz - Mourão, which also qualifies for the Baja European Championship, starts on Friday, September 20 with the 30 km prologue. The competition will cover a total of 502.55 km, of which 350 km will be timed. The route is divided into three stages, and the prologue will be joined by two more selective sectors, one of 161 km, to be held on Saturday and another of 133 km on Sunday. The prize-giving ceremony will take place at 3.30pm on Sunday.
