bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal 2025: Bruno Santos Kicks Off the bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal
Prologue opens W2RC round with Portuguese rider focused on Stage 1
Bruno Santos began his participation in the bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal, a round of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), by contesting this afternoon’s 5.03 km prologue in Grândola, which set the starting order for the first stage.
“Today we started our run at the bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal with a very twisty, tricky prologue — sandy, dusty, and tough to break through the best lines. Some tracks had already been laid down by riders who waited and went later, and it was harder to find the right grooves for this big bike. Still, it was fun. Tomorrow I hope to have a good start. It’ll be the kind of special I like: fast, hard-packed, slippery terrain, technical riding, the bike sliding, lots of navigation, corner entries. I’m excited for tomorrow. I’ll try not to catch too many riders ahead that could block the way, push forward, and hopefully finish with a strong result,” said the Portuguese rider after the prologue.
The 2024 W2RC third-place finisher, supported by Frutas Patrícia Pilar and Momento TT, is debuting a Husqvarna FR450 Rally at this round of the championship.
Tomorrow, the first stage of the bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal will be held, starting and finishing in Grândola. The day will cover a total of 425.65 km, of which 302.25 will be timed against the clock. The bivouac is located at the Grândola Exhibition Park.
