bp Ultimate Rally Raid Portugal 2025: Bruno Santos takes 2nd place at bp Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal
Frutas Patrícia Pilar-backed rider shines as best privateer in the W2RC
Bruno Santos wrapped up a stellar performance at the bp Ultimate Rally-Raid Portugal, claiming 2nd place in Rally2 on the fourth and penultimate round of the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC). The rider from Torres Vedras finished 8th overall, missing 7th place by just one second, and stood out as the best non-professional competitor in the entire field.
On the final stage, a 104 km selective sector in Ribatejo, Santos clocked the 5th fastest time, only a second off the stage winner — who just so happened to be last year’s overall victor.
“Rain fell overnight, and it left us with perfect tracks today — no dust and plenty of grip for the bikes. It was just 104 kilometers, but average speeds topped 100 km/h on these Ribatejo trails. The tracks were lined with spectators cheering us on, and that energy gave us an extra push. I ended up with the 5th fastest time, just a few seconds off the stage winner. It was a thrilling fight against the best riders in the world, and I’m very happy with the result. Despite the tough start to the week because of the dust, everything came together perfectly,” said Bruno Santos, riding a Husqvarna FR450 Rally with support from Frutas Patrícia Pilar and Momento TT.
Santos now turns his attention to the Rallye du Maroc, from October 10 to 17, where he will once again face the world’s elite in the W2RC.
